Frill seeker

Happy Saturday. I am so in love with everything pretty. Always have been. So it should be with extra caution that I set foot on the high street right now. But alas it is reckless abandon that rules my heart when I see all these vintage style sugared almond coloured frills and layers. If I promise to wear them every day will that go a little towards making up for my shopping misdemeanours?

The sky remains the same, dark grey and always threatening never the less I have found a colour that really lifts my spirits and which luckily pairs perfectly with all greys. Plum. I have seen a few flashes of plum (a hat, scarf and skirt) in the off the runway shots in New York over at

I managed to grab a some all my own today in the form of a soft throw and it was only £7.50. It befriends my hand embellished cushions very nicely. Although I will probably end up wearing it as a cape, its chilly at home today.

Outfits for Marrakech

1 A humid summer evening.

2 Walking and adventuring in delicate florals and bright whites to reflect that sun so high up in the sky.

I apologise profusely for the fact that I lost the link to where these sandals came from and the floral top seems to have disappeared much to my dismay from the Jigsaw website. I was hoping that one would make its way into my suitcase.

3 Bits and pieces to remember to pack.No expense spared.
Two piece bikini

I appreciate some of these items are extravagant but this blog is all about having fun and dreaming plus who knew Roberto Cavalli would design a dress to match my favourite flavours at Laduree?

Ps. all the interior images are from P'tit Habibi our hotel in Marrakech.

You can always trust Noa Noa to make spring fashions so girly and pretty, but what caught my eye the most were the beautiful glossy locks tumbling over the models shoulders.

Birds and beeswax

I saw these pretty hand stitched birds from Pheasant Mailorder in a magazine today and had to bring them on over here along with a few other items, like these super bright pink candles and the fluffy rug that I want to smoosh my bare toes into. To top off my day while I was over there I saw Lobster and Swan listed in their news section alongside some of my favourite blogs, how flattered am I?!

dress like a sailor

We had a super fun and delicious dinner at a friends on Saturday evening. Then up early on Sunday feeling nautical I decided to wear the new dress that I got for my birthday a couple of weeks ago. Braved the red tights to nip out and grab breakfast, an apple tart and cinnamon caramel milk.

If only the weekend could last a couple more days.

Bathed in flowers

Was just searching for the perfect maxi dress to take on my holiday when I took a wrong but good turn and found the spring collection from Cabbages and Roses. I stayed too long and fell in love, I may have to buy the Cotton Delilah Tunic. I think it would look great over a pair of white churidar from toast. Perfect for lounging on floral cushions and eiderdowns on a sun drenched Summer lawn.

Furniture and props

All the beauty today is from one of my ultimate styling heroes, Twig Hutchinson. Leafing through her portfolio again, I fall in love with every image. Especially the ones which have hints of yellow mixed with bright blue. Also taking special interest in the last picture as we have just booked a trip to Marrakesh. Hooray. Have you already made holiday plans for this year or are you hoping for a trip somewhere exciting?

For you

Peeking through the DIY archives and beautiful weddings over at Project wedding and found this centrepiece which I thought I would bring back for you.

Photograph by Richard Wood at Project wedding.

Have gathered some extra minutes from my days and turned them into some new daily collages, and I managed to pick up the pretty blue floral dress from the middle image in Laura Ashley for 75% off!

Yellow and Blue

Monday was spent meeting sweet Abi the photograher from Company magazine, striking a terrified pose (oh the full length body shot, fingers crossed I don't look too scared) it was real fun talking to her and once the camera was off me and pointed towards the apartment I was even happier.

Other good things from Monday included getting my new toast catalogue, some beautiful beads arriving from Etsy and a walk to the old town where I picked up this beautiful silk velvet cushion, so soft I could hug it to my chest for eternity and a new bracelet made from heavy daffodil coloured yellow stones. Ended the afternoon with a coffee walnut cupcake.

Happy Valentines Rose.

Happy Valentines day.

After a major tidy and cleaning frenzy this morning ready for the photographers visit tomorrow, I am now baking a Plum and Almond cake and the sweet scent of cinnamon and sugar is filling the air.

Thanks to all who entered my giveaway for two beautiful red striped Cornishware mugs from T.G Green.

The winner is Rose from the blog 'A rose beyond the thames'. I hope you enjoy a cosy mug of something warm as soon as you receive them. If only I could I would send a slice of that cake to accompany your new kitchenware.

Thanks for all your encouraging and inspiring comments, it is amazing to hear how many of you already have or are about to make the jump to spend more time doing the things you love. Its not about money or an easy life either, its clearly about spending most of your time doing what truly makes you happy, even if that means working longer hours for a lower income. A better quality of life. I don't want to look back and wonder why I never attempted to follow my dreams and with the support I have from my family and friends and all of you here it seems as though anything is achievable.

With valentines day fast approaching and as a special thank you to you all for making such interesting reading in the comments section, today seemed the perfect day to share something with you, I have one pair of these lovely red and white Cornish ware mugs to give away. Just leave a comment below and I will randomly pick out one name on Sunday the 14th of February. Good luck!

For more information about T.G Green’s famous Cornishware pottery range and why they have traded in their signature blue for this bright cherry red to celebrate Valentine’s Day 2010 or to order a set these bespoke red and white striped ‘Love Cups’ which come nestled in a beautiful gift box, each containing a little bag of handmade chocolates, visit T.G Green.

Home made cinnamon latte, windows flung open, fresh air sweeping through the house. I have had the week off. Half spent in Ireland with my mum and littlest sister and half at home, a birthday in the middle, with a special dinner cooked by my dad and other sister and an inbox brimming with messages and exciting opportunities.

I am taking a step back from my day job, reducing my hours, with my husband helping me update and expand my blog so I can spend more time writing and introduce some new regular features. I love so much expressing my creativity and interests on this page, meeting and talking with you. Things are looking better than ever. Once the DIY and repairs are done to our apartment building we will hopefully be able to start looking for a cafe/shop space or even seek out the beginnings of that boutique B&B I dream of running.

Anyway must get back to stitching new garlands and making the flat all pretty again, there is talk of another photographer coming to take pictures for a magazine, will update you about that later. Have a wonderful weekend.

Have you already given up a ordinary day job? if not how do you dream of spending your days?

Thursday's looking up.

A dash of embellishment to brighten this dingy grey again Thursday. Courtesy of the Clements Ribeiro resort 2010 Look book. I just love all the decoration of the interior behind the models too. Such joyous colouring. Just right for a morning so dull. I think these amazing outfits could be easily adapted for smaller budgets too.
