Tuesday's girl

Should always dress up to the nines. Todays giveaway is a trio of my photographs, a set I call 'spend the day like a princess'.

This giveaway is open to everyone no matter where you live. All you need to do is leave a comment telling me what secret rituals you have when you are having an indulgent princess day.

Good luck! xxx

I take the time to light candles and take a long bubble bath, hopefully with a good glass of wine! It's my favorite way to pamper myself.

Stay a little -or a lot!- longer in bed. Buy a book. Lunch with friends. A movie for myself!

Lunch, thrifting, coffee, and chocolate with a friend for the day and dinner with my boys in the evening...maybe a little time for reading a book in the quiet.

wake early. stay in bed.
reach for my current read on my bedside table and read for 15 minutes or an hour or 2 hours.

think about window shopping at a favorite shop or two. maybe picking up a small 'something' for myself during my visit.

stop at the "good bread store" on my way back home.

think about any evening meal that is easy + delicious to make.

or maybe i'll just bake cookies + skip dinner.

a nice bath before an early night crawling into flannel sheets and finish my day the way it started...with my book.

Lovely!

When I'm having an indulgent day I drink several cups of tea, make something like biscuits or cookies or muffins, and give myself ample time to just sit in my sewing space and dream up projects.

I put on my home-knitted stay-in-bed socks and tip-toe out to the kitchen, make myself a cup of tea and find leftover cupcakes for breakfast, which is eaten in bed.

I don't think I ever really have princess days, but the closest I come is probably spending a day at home with my boyfriend, away from other people and obligations, just eating good food and reading books or watching movies.

Sleep in. Have a nice breakfast in my favourite café. A little shopping spree. Going home and play with my recent purchases. Take a long bath. A good cup of tea and a favourite book I already read and always wanted to read again but never found the time. Ignoring the phone.

Catharina said...

Fresh sheets, homemade cookies, some tea or coffee, pretty magazines for inspiration and daydreams...what more could you need?

Simone said...

Maybe not so exciting, but anything that isn't about anyone else -- things that just appeal to me and make my day: taking French classes, reading a book purely for enjoyment/enlightenment, shopping at the fresh market, drinking a nice Italian red, reading an e-mail or receiving a phone call from a friend. Oh, and I guess a nice relaxing facial doesn't hurt. ;)

i love to take a long walk... to drink a cup of tea... to read a good book :)

take an extra long shower. paint my nails with an extra sassy color. go shopping and indulge myself in something a little more expensive (when I otherwise wouldn't). dress in oodles of layers (my best "i-want-to-look-like-i'm-not-trying-hard-to-look-effortless" clothes). do whatever i want, when i want, and act like a mini diva (a nice one) all day long.

I like to take a long bath... a long, long bath, and while I soak, I like watching Pride and Prejudice (2-3 episodes in one sitting).

I honestly can't remember when I had such a day! At the moment it is getting into bed early and watching Grey's Anatomy. I guess I need to take the time to have one for myself!

Lots of scented candles and an expensive bottle of Chardonnay!

Hmm... No rushing. It must all be leisurely. Eating yummy things, spending money on things I don't need, perhaps a long bath, painting my nails, magazines with gorgeous photographs... A long nap if I wish...

Buy a couple of English magazines (I live in France), make some Pleine Lune tea and bake a few orange blossom flower muffins- all for myself!

I like to treat myself to a movie or some are supplies, depending on my mood.

Relax on the sofa with my fave French cookies...they are a shortbread with milk chocolate on top...yum! Basically just be lazy! :)

shopping (and, if it's a really indulgent day, actually buying something)

Well, it might not be a "secret" ritual...but it would definitely involve some Starbucks, a pedicure and a new magazine :)

sleeping in, scented bath with plenty of lotions and potions afterward, chocolate, tea, the anticipation of a shopping trip and night out with the husband! :)

I love an early morning with fresh coffee and some good reads (my favorite blogs). Then depending on my mood (cravings) I like to make something delicious in the kitchen. Followed by a evening snuggled on the sofa with a warm blanket and my favorite shows. It's the small, simple things....

On a pricess day in our little brick house, my tiny darlings(ages 4 and 2) set the table for tea with our fanciest china, deck ourselves out with tutus and vintage tiaras and listen to our favorite tunes, the nutcracker suite. The tinier the tea set and the smaller the cakes, the better. The puppy has even been known to dress up and partake in the fun. How wonderful it would be to win your lovely pictures.....we love nothing more than to recieve packages big and small!!

I wrap myself in by silk dressing gown and lay on the breakfast couch while my amazing boyfriend cooks us breakfast. Then sit on our deck next to the rosemary bush looking out to sea, drink coffee and read my book. Or lay in long grass watching clouds.

Oo what a charming giveaway!

I like slowly working my way through a new copy of Vogue with a cup of a new flavor of tea or some really good coffee, television playing in the background, in my pajamas. :) frannieface77@ucla.edu

This may sounds silly, but I moisturize. I normally don't bother with more than my hands, especially because I bought my superb moisturizer in the UK(I live in Finland), and I'm trying to conserve it. But when I'm feeling princessy, I moisturize the whole lot. :)

Hi Jeska
Well, as I spend most of my time at home it is so very easy to see housework or other jobs which need doing. So, for me, a Princess day at home would involve drinking tea from my favourite tea set and eating some kind of chocolate treat whilst lounging on the sofa watching a Merchant Ivory film.... aaah! I need one of those days right now!!

Ooh, a lie in (who put that pea under the mattress?), a date with my hairdresser (the tiara needs near perfect hair) and dinner prepared and served by the Prince here (now that is a fairy tale!).

have a bath spiced with some amazing essential oil...with candles and medeival music. Following, I'd paint my nails any crazy colour I feel like <:O)

I light candles all throughout the house. I treat myself to a spread of brie, toast points, grapes and artisan salami. I watch romance-against-all-odds movies like Pride & Prejudice and Memoirs Of A Geisha. I eat incredibly dark chocolate and drink incredibly strong red wine. And I stay up as late as I want.

(My sister is the author of "Do Princesses Wear Hiking Boots?")so...

My princess day begins with a walk in the woods, followed by a coffee & pastry, reading newest British Edition Country Living, thrifting, afternoon snack of fruit & cheese, a petite box of Chuao (the best bonbons EVER!!), meditate/yoga for 20 min., a long hot bath w/ aroma therapy, dinner at my fav Chinese where I pour hot jasmine tea into Asian cups for all my loved ones. I'd end the day w/ a stroll in the moonlight, then to bed early for some fairytale dreams.

i have to say it always involves flowers, a good baguette, grapes and cheese! reminds me of my earlier time in france with my aunt so my ritual always reminds me of that time.

So cute, croqqing my fingers :) So, when I'm taking a moment for my self, first I light some candles around the living room than I make a good rooibos tea and sip it on my favorite burgundy cup normally this is in the afternoon and I admit I love to watch the german girly films they have on tv in the afternoon, it's always about impossible love stories in paradise places :) and if I'm really relaxed I end up sleeping :) :)

I always bake, paint my nails and curl my hair when I have the time! These are my favourite ways to indulge any time I get alone. I love watching old movies while I do any of these.
Thank you for all your lovely give away's, I'm keeping my fingers crossed! x
