A spot of lunch

Just preparing lunch before I brave the outside world, a world which today is filled with plumes of smoke from the remains of our smouldering Pier after some swines set it alight last night. I need to find an outfit that won't mind soaking up the miserable smoke and ash. Meanwhile as I muster the will to leave, I am cheering myself up with a 1920's film day, a tonne of sequinned headdresses and feathers and flower garlands to lift my dampened spirits.

I thought I would also share a picture of my living room as it looks this morning, the swan it seems has been to busy to tidy. But I've not been idling, I spent the morning listing a final few sets of photographs in my Etsy shop. and the lounge will be ship shape later.

That's actually tidier than my living room right now. At least there doesn't seem to be much on the floor..Hope you manage to make it outside x

I am so envious of your eating habits. Your meals always look so simple, yet so inviting. Your couch looks pretty darn inviting, too, actually.

Tasty looking lunch. It is tragic that the pier sustained such serious damage. Landmarks like that are difficult to replicate.

Such a great pity the Pier is smouldering..there are now only a very few Pier's left!
We need to preserve them.

So sad to see the pier engulfed in smoke this morning. Just when there is talk of it's regeneration too.

Hi
I was so sad to hear about the pier, Hastings is very dear to my heart with lots of childhood memories as well as last week when we re-visited your lovely town and wander around the old town. Luch looks delicious!! my sewing room looks like that at the moment!

I wish my lunch looked so tasty and pretty. Even when my place is clean it still doesn't look that inviting. Beautiful pictures!

The pier how awful, it has stood for so many years, a sad day!

Oh that's so sad that they set fire to the pier... It looks as though you've been pretty busy sorting your etsy shop so I'm not surprised the tidying is left until last!!

What a shame. So sorry to see that. Is Hastings supposed to be the town where the Foyles War series takes place? If so, was it actually filmed there? I sure hope they can salvage the pier but in a way that doesn't change how it used to look.

Can you tell us what you've spread on your dainty cuke sandwich? I think I overdosed on the cucumber as I grew so many this summer but this looks promising - pink? A cream cheese perhaps flavored with ???? Do tell please.

What is wrong with some people?
I saw Nick Cave a few years ago on the pier....the venue not him licking an ice-cream on the pier;-)
Your 'mess' doesn't look very messy at all....I bet it didin't take you long to sort it out.

Thank you for showing us your "messy" living room. I seriously respect and love that kind of honesty out here in the blogospehere. Outnumbered by animals at home, our couch is always covered in blankets and our house never feels "picture perfect". But it's lived in, and it's home.
