I love tiered cake stands! Me and my mum are always on the lookout for them at antique stores and such. I love the ones that you showed in your pictures, they are darling!

That film is shot so beautifully (with the most amazing soundtrack!). But all of Sophia Coppola's movies have some sort of ethereal quality to them. I love her movies.

I have a fetish for cake stands - tiered or not. I can't get enough - wish they could fold up for storage though. Thanks for the lovely post.

I totally share your obsession...that film is the most divine two hours of visual inspiration! The wonderful juxtaposition of colors and textures just makes me want to sit down and create for days on end. And the presentation of food is spectacular!

Best of luck in your hunt for a pretty cake stand!

marie antoinette is one of the girliest, most amazing movies ever, and every time i watch it it always inspires me. it makes me want to cover everything in frosting, or go out to lunch in a quaint cafe, or be wonderfully extravagant in every way possible, just like she was (ok well, to a point...) :)
