The first of 2010

The tree is all gone, the garlands away, just about eaten all the seasonal excess. Happy to discard anything thats left over and start from scratch, healthy eating to heal up all the damage that too many party nights may have caused and long woodland or beachside walks in the brisk winter air to cleanse the mind and soul.

I was so happy this morning when I remembered I have one of these sweet calendars from Kitty Rogers. I can't wait to pop it on my fridge and see it every day. Now just to find the safe place in which I stored it . . . . . . .

All images Kitty rogers.

I bought two of these as well, one for me and one for my sister. I just dug it out the other day and it is sitting right next to my laptop, so I can see the month at a glance.

Ahh - I am eyeing the tree but resisting until the 12th day of Christmas is finally up! My husband fills the house with Epiphany cakes (Gâteaux des rois) and I resist in a last bid effort to detox after our own excesses... Beautiful photos and Happy New Year!

Unlike a lot of people I cancelled my gym membership on Dec 31. I've decided I'd much rather get walking outside and there are so many parks near me. Love you photos by the way.

Happy New Year to you!
What a beautiful calendar... I hope it emerges from that special hiding place very soon.
We're still full-on tree, garlands, candles, etc here - I'll probably hold out until Tuesday! Then have a splendid time clearing it all away.
Have a good start back to work and I hope you have a happy January,
Denise x

Happy New Year to you. My tree remains up until the 6th as I like a little magic to linger in the house. xx

Am loving those notebooks. Have just walked around the river - like walking on crystals with the sparkly frost. Obviously, didn't take a camera - just enjoyed the winter wonderlandness of it all. Happy 2010!

That calendar is beautiful. I love filling out a new calendar and hanging it on the wall - it makes the new year seem more real for some reason! Hope you have a very happy 2010 xx

According to my mother, it is acceptable to keep christmas decorations up until the 6th of January. I choose to take her advice on this, because I want to stretch out the festive glee for as long as I can!

Christmas done and dusted, all ornaments packed away, only a few sweet eats remain and 2010 is thus far running a dream.
