Extra blankets

I woke up to find a light sprinkling of snow covering my street this morning, so I thought I would share some more lovely wintry pictures from around the UK. I so hope it stays for christmas. I know the whole country seems to grind to a halt and some people get a bit crazy when it snows, but I just see it as an opportunity stay home, pile extra blankets on the couch and make a round of cinnamon dusted churros.

Photos by Alexander Morag and Jan Ford over at The BBC weather gallery. Churos image from Cherry platter.

Ps. thank you so much for all your well wishes on my last post. Still beaming : )

It started snowing quite heavily last night in London. My boyfriend was staying in town and we were hoping we'd get snowed in and be forced to spend the day off work together. Alas, it didn't happen (but the remaining white stuff is still very pretty).

I love churros. In Brazil you can get large ones filled with chocolate toffee - so so good! Beautiful winter photos there! xxx

Blankets and cinnamon churros sounds like a very good idea to me...with eight inches of snow outside and more falling, I think I could just manage that.

And I didn't get to congratulate you on your last post, so...that's brilliant and so deserved, congratulations. Long may it continue...

Oh God, if I read your blog any more I am going to get even rounder! I just want to pop one/many of those churros into my mouth. Forget the walking in our beautiful countryside, blankets on the sofa sounds like a better option!

The top photo is exquisite! I'm crossing my fingers for a real snowstorm next week. I haven't had a really white Christmas all the time I've lived in Toronto, which just seems cruel. Surely, that should be the one upside of moving to Canada!?

Enjoy your cozy weekend!!

I know the snow is causing great problems but there's something about having to stop and that delicious light a snow covering brings that is just wonderful.
