This lovely

Back home now, and oh I do love our sweet little flat, but I would trade up and move to the remote cottage in the black mountains tomorrow.

So peaceful with nature all around. There was so much I loved . . . .

A blue-tit perched on my windowsill in the morning
Stunning views of Autumn all around
Baking potatoes in the fire
The swish of the river outside
Carving a pumpkin
Finding all the houses dotted around the mountains
and choosing which ones I would like to live in, all of them.
Meeting a farmer and his horse on the road
Not watching television
Rain on the roof at night
Playing scrabble

I am counting the days until we can have another holiday this lovely. For any of you who would love to spend a few days away from an overpopulated town and in a rural cottage Under the thatch is such a great company and where we rented this cottage (Pont Esgob) from.

oooo! love your pix and it really looks like another world! Never been to Wales but lived in the UK for 3 years in the early '90's and I still miss it. Especially Devon or 'Devonia' as I liked to call it...

Jeska, I am glad you had a lovely time too! It is just so peaceful there isn't it ~ we spent our time gazing at the farmhouse opposite planning what we do to renovate it!

Did you manage a stop at Baileys on the way home? I do hope so.

Lovely photos,

Emma x

Dear Jeska
You may need to speak with "Under the Thatch" because I can see you should be getting some commission on their future bookings! All of blogland will be heading their way....
Hubby and I have just spent half an hour browsing the glorious cottages/huts on their website and we are totally smitten! Your pink/red cottage looks delightful - I wish the interior of my house looked like that!
What an amazing find you've made and thanks for sharing - we'll definitely want to stay in one of these cottages next year. :-)
Enjoy your happy memories!

Under the Thatch is such a great company, we stayed at their Shepherd's Hut in the Brecon Beacons in September and had the time of our lives, it was so secluded and peaceful (and we stopped off at Baileys on the way home to buy some chairs..). I've been raving about it to friends ever since. Glad to hear you had a great time too.

Hi, Jeska. My goodness it's been quite some time since I've left a comment (though I've been around) but this just all stopped my heart. Looks and sounds achingly delerious and would give anything to whisk myself off to that spot pronto! But at least I'll have your experience to live vicariously through. Siiiiiiigh. :)
