The sweetest little cottage in wales

I have been popping home at lunchtimes to pack up orders and plan our getaway. We have rented the sweetest little cottage in wales. I am so excited, to be spending some time with the husband away from our town. Quiet time. talking time, cooking and building fires. Reading and toasting marshmallows.

More about the cottage later. For now in preparation I am writing lots of lists, lists of things we need to do, like shopping for good old traditional green wellington boots, finding the torch, food to take. wine to drink. I am so excited.

Thanks to lots of your suggestions I have plenty in mind for where to visit and what to see.

Another weekend is nearly here and I have so much I need to make and do for my shop, but all I want to do is bake some of Jamie Oliver's Pine nut and Almond cookies. Maybe I will get up super early to bake and then we can enjoy warm from the oven biscuits with our Sunday morning coffee.

How will you be spending your Saturday and Sunday?

Hi Jeska

Have a lovely holiday and buy local, the local economy needs it and there is so much fresh local produce to buy from local markets and small shops in Abergavenny or Hay on Wye!

Good morning!

Warm biscuits with Sunday coffee sounds divine ;) I'll be running around like a headless chicken no doubt, my other half's family is coming round for Sunday which means prep work but I am going to try and stick in some me time in there and get on with a sketch idea for a painting and a bubble bath with a good book.

Have a lovely holiday!

Oh those cookies even SOUND delicious ... I can imagine how they taste! Early baking is a wonderful thing ;-)

how long do you have to drive to Wales?

Well, I am very content because I get to go home to my parents on the weekend. Breakfast with an old schoolfriend on Saturday and then I found those great rope-necklaces (http://ohjoy.blogs.com/my_weblog/2009/10/roped-in.html) I am thinking about making! Have yourself a wonderful rest of the week!
Yours, Theresa

That sounds like a lovely fall getaway!
You have me thinking about baking some cookies this weekend, maybe gingery, cinnamony ones since it's really cold outside here and it's Thanksgiving weekend in Canada. We always have gingery spicy things for Thanksgiving. I think I'll also make a big pot of soup and watch some good movies.
Have a great weekend planning and baking!

Have a lovely time! Make sure you take photos! I'm checking out christmas party venues this weekend, having a cooked breakfast somewhere and going to a designer party - cheap designer wear! Might try and tackle the sewing machine again too! xxx

Thanks for sharing. Wales is on my list of places to explore one day. We are headed off to explore pumpkin patches and antique stores in Snohomish, Washington. Lot's of warm biscuits with tea and cider....crisp fall mornings with falling leaves. Enjoy! Stacy
