Dress 1 or Dress 2

Today I need a little help from my friends. I think I can call you that? I hope so. Anyway this weeks dilemma is dress 1 or dress 2 ? I am going to a wedding on the 2nd of May and I can't decide which one to wear. Next week I might indulge my inner Carrie Bradshaw and show you how I might fancy each one up. Not that they need much fancying. So what do you think?

I love them both! But as I'm very keen on colour I would choose dress 2. Weddings are great celebration days and yet so many guest wear very safe outfits - I'm all for shaking up the status quo and going for colour: Big Time!!! And you'll have all the other guests wishing they'd stepped out of the comfort zone....
Happy weekend!

Dress 2 is adorable. That's my choice :-).

I LOVE both of them soooo much!!! the print are so cute but also chic! As for me, i will choose dress 1 for the wedding, coz it's more formal in the way of the colour and cuts. keep it simple, coz 'simple is elegant'. and it could be seen as a timeless carrie bradshaw!

ps. love love ur blog, gives me lot of inspirations for life and good taste

ditto. love the colors in number 2 - just perfect for a wedding celebration! have fun! (and i just love your blog/pics!)

i think i will have to choose dress 2 as well.
but i'm a sucker for anything with mustard yellow and blue. :)

#2 - It's bold. Have fun.

Dress one!

Weddings are a celebration and I think dress two screams to celebrate!

I love the blue but the white would also pop with some bright accessories.. it is also so delicate and would be nicely offset with pearls and such. I am a pearl addict! Perhaps you can embellish some strap sandals with pearls and ribbon!

I really like dress #1, simply because i'm a simple person. but i do agree with adding some color, since it will be a wedding and all... so dress #2 is a good choice as well. I always say, which ever one makes you FEEL the cutest when you put it on!

Gigi said...

If two cents from a total stranger who likes your blog is okay, I vote for the second dress. I love the first one, but the color of number two is fabulous!!

Prince Kaleido said...

Yes, dress2, but I say this because you shouldn't wear white to weddings (cuz that's the bride's color)

littlesquidge said...

I was just about to say go for dress one! Simply because I love the full skirt on it! You could wear a huge tulle or net under skirt to really puff it out. And I love the huge flower idea, I wore the biggest one I could find as a sort of fascinator / hat to a wedding recently and everyone loved it. X

LOve them both....but love, love the mix of the blue and mustard....
but, the ultimate question is....which one do you fell better in??

I think dress two is cute. I like the yellow cardigan over it, it's the perfect fit for a spring wedding.
I always like belts, they seem to make an outfit more unique.

Both are gorgeous! I have to give dress 2 my vote though. Great blog btw!

I really love the white one and I think it is just perfect for a crisp springtime wedding. The blue one feels a little warmer to me and see it more in late summer when the air is thicker...

I tend to be really inspired by the weather...particularly the feel, temp, humidity, scent of the air

Blair said...

OH, I just love dress 1! What a lovely print. It is absolutely perfect for a spring weeding.

Kristin said...

I also LOVE them both, but I think I'd go with dress 1 and wear some really fun shoes and definitely a huge Carrie-style flower in your hair. I just think that dress 1 is a little more wedding-y and soft. But whichever one you choose will be gorgeous!

GloamingDesigns said...

i'm in a color mood too so i'm loving the second one - but what if you chose the dress that was more in the spirit of the wedding invite? maybe a silly thought, but it's just a idea.

but whatever you do, definitely go for a huge flower in your hair!!

Dress #2! I love them both but the first one seems to be my fav. I want to have a wedding in May! My birthday is the 8th of May :)

Dress 1. The floral print is gorgeous, the white color so fresh, and the style is so feminine!

And styling it should be easy, as the dress is very beautiful already.

By the way, if you're interested, I've got a great GIVEAWAY over at my blog. Join in if you'd like!

Either would be great, but I think I prefer #2, but without the sweater. Maybe a nice shawl instead?

ONE! ONE! ONE! It looks like a fun party dress.

I also vote for dress #2. I love that bright blue so much. And it'll be a great time of year to pop in color.

koralee said...

Oh...they both really are lovely..but i choose dress 2! I love the color and think it would look smashing on you...

katiecrackernuts said...

Oh, I think No.1. It's fresh and light and cinched in at the waist and that skirt - you'll twirl on the dance floor.

Rachel said...

I am also a fan of dress #2. I wish I had that for an event I have to go to.

CAM said...

I love both dresses too but I have a leaning towards one mostly because of the design rather than the difference in colours... but again they are both very beautiful.

Saorise said...

I agree with Denise! I love both of the dresses, but I think that blue will really stand out, especially with the flower in your hair. Beautiful choices by the way.

Kristina said...

Two! Two! Is the cardigan a separate piece? I would assume so... if that's the case, kudos to you for being brave.

Can't wait to see the accessories.

Anonymous said...

I would take number 1, it seem more flattering. But with bold accessories to pep it up, and something on the shoulders.

Karen said...

this is such a hard choice! i think i'm leaning toward the first one though -- but i don't think you could go wrong with either :)

I really like them both! I vote for dress #1. It is soo lovely and delicate. Pair the cardigan and you're good to go!

Oooh. I was all for dress 1 till I read that it's for a wedding! Definitely go for dress 2. Even if it's got flowers on it, I wouldn't want to wear a white dress to a wedding and risk getting funny looks!

Both dresses look marvelous, for the record :)

Jasmine said...

In my humble opinion, i like dress 1 as it is really 'spring-ish' and would bring out a tan nicely! Pop a white flower in yr hair and it would look fantastic!
Dress 2 could run the risk of looking mum-sy.
Post pics of you at the wedding!!!!

I love the white dress! With a huge hot pink flower in your hair...do cute.

I'm loving number two!

Lynne said...

The second one is more me as I suit bright colours, but if you've got the skin tone, then go for the first one as I love the shape! All this talk of not wearing white to a wedding is ridiculous - it's not like it's a bright white dress!

Love dress no 2! don't you love your dresses - i'm fairly slim but always manage to look rather frumpy in dresses - how do you manage to avoid that!?

They are both gorgeous but I like the second one just that little bit more!

I love the bold colours of dress 2. But both of them are absolutely lovely!

I do love the blue dress, but I think for a different occasion, maybe for a spring baby shower or family picnic. I think the 1st dress for the occasion,it's very festive in a vintage sort of way, and very appropriate for a wedding, wear vintage looking jewelry and cute strappy heels, nothing to high. With a very cute, light weight wrap, I would pass on the flower in your hair, wear it on your wrist, and carry a white or pastel clutch. Have fun....Mallie

jenna said...

I would do dress 2, because dress 1 has a little too much white for a dress that is not the bride's.

Rhia said...

I definetly have to vote for dress no 1. It is elegant and stylish at the same time. For some reason dress no 2 doesn't look as elegant, even though there is nothing wrong with that either.

As an ex wedding-shop sales-person I have to make a comment about wearing white in weddings. Nowadays modern brides go often also for other colours than just white. I have heard of weddings where guests weren't allowed to wear pink because brides dress was pink. It is still considered that pure white is only for bride. If guest wears pure white it leaves bride into shadows so to speak. This dress is not pure white even though it has white background colour. If you look at the dress it doesnt look just white but multicoloured. So no worries on that matter. And I have also heard of weddings where all the guests were advised to wear all white aswell. So it depends quite a lot on the wedding and the marrying couple themselves what kind of rules or etiquette they create, not so much on what has been before and what does the history say. People and habbits change over the years.

thanks for commenting

oh, i like the colors in 2 and the cut of 1. so i guess either. hmm, that wasn't very helpful was it... if i had to choose then, number 1.

:)

Silence said...

DEFINATELY dress 1! It's happier and suits the mood of a wedding better. ;)

life according to celia... said...

not the popular choice, but i would go with dress 1. it's just so classic!

kitten56 said...

If you are still taking votes, I vote for dress #2. Mostly because I love the color, but also because of the jacket or sweater with it. And for a third reason, I'm old fashioned, I think only the bride should wear white to a wedding.

Great Blog by the way...

shelly said...

I say you should wear dress number one! Number one! Number one! Both dresses are pretty but if you're going to a wedding, I think light colors would do best. Number one!
Yeah!

Anonymous said...

I own dress two so maybe I am a bit biased :) Dress one is lovely but dress two is my vote! And unless you are a little old lady, this dress will NEVER look little old lady. It's a throwback to a different time, to be sure, but a youthful attitude (and nice legs) go a long way.

Cheers
Amelia
