Snowfall

A small Shop update today, between cooking and staring out of my windows at the wonder of snowfall. It looks so pretty. Hope it lasts a little while.

11. I am eternally searching for a signature perfume. Just for me. The One. It still eludes me.

What's your favorite perfume or scent? I promise I won't steal it : )

I've worn Issey Miyake for more than 10 years. Recently, I've been switching it up with some Jo Malone. I like her scent-layering approach - allows you to find something very "you" and improvise on it with different accents.

I don't really use perfume.. perhaps I should :) It's not a perfume, but right now I have an amazing sugar scrub called "turkish cocoa". It's the best ever.

Those postcards look great!!! I'm nabbing a set right now!

Jo Malone. Find your favorite. Or, Aqua di Parma.

Recently I've been wearing Badgley Mischka perfume, but my all-time favorite signature is Eau de Merveilles by Hermes - the perfect blend of floral notes and a little musk.

for years i've worn stella (mainly because it was almost right but i was never in love with it) and then for christmas my husband bought me agent provocateur (eau emotinelle) and it's the one. it's fresh and floral(ish) and a little spicy. i do also love wearing his signature scent which is john varvatos. but that's for when i'm feeling particularly rock n' roll.

I've worn Chanel No 5 since I was 17 (for over thirty years!)I've tried others - when I couldn't afford another bottle of Chanel or I liked the smell of something on someone else but I always come back to it!

When I was younger, an older woman I admired always wore a fig scent that I loved for its subtlety...but I found it didn't suit me.
In the end, I always come back to men's scents, or scents that smell clean like soap. I've never been much for the feminine or flowery.
My all-time favorite is Herm├ęs Eau d'Orange Vert.
I also sometimes use philosopy Pure Grace, which smells very clean and pure.

I don't have a fragrance either. I always think I've found it but it never smells like it does from the bottle. My last attempt was an aphrodesia solid perfume that made me smell like an old lady : )

my favourite scent is 'ylang ylang', it's not even a perfume, but i just love how 'simple' and lovely it is.

My favorite sent is by Hermes. In fact, their whole line is just simply scrumptious!

I adore Fresh's chocolate orange scent, its very warm and citrus-y, but not sugary. I think its been discontinued but its amazing!

Essential oils from the health food store are always a big hit for me. Sandalwood is my favorite incense, but I haven't worn it as fragrance. I dab a little Egyptian Musk on my neck and my Loverboy says it's the best :)

Guerlain's Purple Fantasy...only available in Paris now.

I'm also still looking ;) Some oriental fragrance, sandal wood, patchouli, amber...

Stella is lovely and rosey, but I think there's a new Paul Smith rose perfume that's just come out. I really love Penhaligon's Violetta - the perfect parma violet fragrance. And I've just discovered a strange perfume - Eau Maman et Bebe by L'Occitane. All soft and vanilla-y. I like the idea that I smell like a Parisian child!

Not a commercial perfume, but my favourite scent is Rose. I love it and never tire of wearing it! I usually buy an oil or other natural product from health food stores/green shops.

I love your images! And my fave perfume for a while has been princess by vera wang, but i always change my mind!

I love roses too, you can concoct your 'own' at Garden Botanika, which is sorta fun. I've loved looking at your blog, very creative and wonderful pictures too..

En Passant by Olivia Giacobetti for Frederic Malle - it's so light you just get a hint of it, but the hint is so good you want to chase it. (I'm sure there is a Frederic Malle scent for everyone)

Dream by GAP.
No other scents can make me feel so good and comfortable.

Narciso Rodriguez, for her. I searched for ages for 'the one' before I found it!

So many fabulous suggestions here! Thank you for sharing. I am thinking a visit to Jo Malone is definitely in order the next time I visit London and if after that my sense of smell isn't permanently impaired I could pop to some another Perfumers on regent street! I'd love to spend some time in Annick Goutal.

Still snowing!

Mine has long been Pleasures by Estee Lauder. I am the opposite of you, I try and try other scents, and this one is always me, I can't wear anything else. I can't wear anything else. I do love to play with essential oils though and my favourite combination is Rose, Neroli, Sweet Orange, Ylang Ylang and Jasmine.
Enjoy the snow!

For day I wear 'Eu Dynamisante' by Clarins. For night I wear Shalimar' by Geurlain. My mother wore Shalimar, as does one of her sisters and my Grandmother too. It always reminds me of being a little girl and watching my mother get ready to go out at night x

I wear more than one, but I have some that are more "me." The biggies are Eau de Merveilles by Hermes (fantastic!), and ETRO's Shaal Nur. If I had to choose just one scent, it would be that one. Incense, a wee opening of citrus, and a hint of rose. Amazing.

I love chanel coco madamoiselle. It's very feminine and there's this great sort of aura round me when I wear it.

I'm a huge scent fan but haven't managed to find a 'one'. A great little place to try unusual scents is Les Senteurs on Elizabeth Street in London. They will post you samples for a small charge.

All the department stores have good selections and Liberty has recently introduced Frederic Malle which Lola is Beauty mentioned and that line is really wonderful. You might like their Dan Tes Bras.

Also Lostmarc'h scents which I have been writing about, hard to find but very good!

My new favorite perfume *in the world* is something I found at Anthropologie this year. It's by Moulinette Souers and called...actually that might be the name of it? There are only two kinds a purple one and a white one. The purple one is my favorite and smells like heaven. (Try it!)

Narcisso Rodriguez for Her during the day. Makes me feel like a woman. And at night, my daughter's old teddy often stuck to my face when she sleeps between her father and I...Which makes me feel...TIRED !

I adore Prada Tendre Eau de Parfum - it's musky yet clean. I've worn it for years and it's a very comfortable fragrance. I don't know too many people who wear it either, so that's nice...

But, if it's head turns you want, my husband always takes notice when I wear Bond No. 9's Nuits de Noho.

Your question got me to thinking, which led me to post about my 'signature perfume' on my own blog. The only perfume I have worn for the last couple of years is Fiori di Capri by Carthusia. I love it, but I have yet to commit to it being my 'signature'. I'll ponder that one.

I am catching up on my reading of your blog... So I am reading it backward. Your posts always calm me down and make me appreciate all the wonderful little moments in life. Thank you

I love my husband's spray called Gendarme. It has a light fragrance, crisp and clean.

I adore essential oils. Bergamont, Neroli and Lavender when I am feeling especially bogged down.

My signature fragrance is – L'Artisan "La Chasse aux Papillons " Chasing Butterlies.
