Square meal

All my friends are having babies, I'm torn. We need a few more holidays before we even consider it. Maybe we will be like carrie and big and have a cupboard of shoes instead. The husband is almost there with a closet full of barely worn skate shoes, he's got Adidas etc coming out of his ears! Maybe we won't have any children. It feels a bit expected, I can't keep count of how many people have said "oh a baby next" But we only just got married!
For the moment I'm happy to be a fabulous auntie to all these mischievous little devils. They can wear my jewelry and dress up in my clothes, enjoy my home bakes cakes and then return to their rightful owners. Kids on loan and a tranquil intact home at the end of the day sounds like a better way to me. I will still be able to afford to eat a square meal every day and heat my apartment!

Yes indeed, Jess, we are in a baby wonderland these days. But, I must say, I always find it so puzzling why newlyweds get immediately pounced on to start producing babies? Some, it would seem, would like to see the wife pregnant before leaving the wedding reception! It's kinda nuts. So you two do exactly as you wish and be damned with outside pressures! :)

And if it means you're going to be like Auntie Mame? Well then...that much better!

thank you, It's nice not to be coerced or told that I don't know what I'm missing.
Best just to take a few more years to find out more about us and just be content for a while.

take your time ;-) and when the time comes, you'd know!!!!
both our babies were not planned and with Nabila it was in the beginning of our marriage and since our romance was whirlwind we were totally gobsmacked... but we really really enjoyed having her for 8 years before Q arrived! hahaha actually this time round it is liek a new baby all over because we haven't had a baby for so long!
But J, seriously take your time. Enjoy each other - enjoy the world together, blossom with each other and blossom in each other's eyes, in each other's simles. Believe me once you have kiddies, no matter how much your love 'em, the dynamic of your relationship will change not to mention you will ahve to talk about poo for at least 2 years LOL...

Discovered your beautiful blog via Tommy's "this is naive", and love your gorgeous etsy shop! Also saw a comment from Sofia Barao whose works I'm a big fan of. Late congrats on your wedding! I'll be checking out this blog regularly from now on. :-)

Ps. I also love love loved Sex and the City movie, certainly laughed and cried a lot. I find it absolutely fantastic and it takes the TV series to a different cinematic & dramatic level. And for those who think this is just a chick flick - my husband who's 22 years older than me also enjoyed it very much! :-)

oh for goodness sake! you're not seriously getting asked already are you? [I got that question once recently, we've been married almost six years and well anyway, they said, 'you're not getting any younger you know'. I about flipped.]

anyway...

I absolutely adore the movie Auntie Mame!!!! I could watch it a million times!

have a wonderful weekend jess!

Oh I would love to be a fabulous auntie! I'm an only child theough and The Boy's brother is none too keen on the idea of procreating. How selfish of him!
